The
National Educational Technology Standards for Students
is designed to provide teachers, technology planners, teacher
preparation institutions, and educational decision-makers
with frameworks and standards to guide them in establishing
enriched learning environments supported by technology.
Teachers can use these standards and profiles as guidelines
for planning technology-based activities in which students
achieve success in learning, communication, and life skills.
Chart
of States Using NETS: At the state level, 49 of
the 51 states have adopted, adapted, aligned with, or otherwise
referenced at least one set of standards in their state
technology plans, certification, licensure, curriculum plans,
assessment plans, or other official state documents.
The
Southern Regional Education Board's February 2001 Technology

were based on the National Educational Technology Standards
