Today's
technology is opening many opportunities to families and
individuals. With the wonderful opportunities, however,
come risks. It is the goal of the Community
Cybersafety Education Program to teach parents and communities
how to manage those risks while benefiting from the opportunities
that are available. Parents are the most influential sources
of information and protection to the family. With that in
mind, the CyberCrime Task Force of Georgia initiated a statewide
program of volunteers who are available to give presentations
and classes to our communities. The regional School Safety
Coordinators from the Georgia Emergency Management Agency
(GEMA) are the local managers of the program and are able
to help provide resources for any group that would like
to learn more about Cybersafety. To request a presentation
or a full day class, just submit a request form with the
necessary information and someone will contact you to arrange
the meeting. To learn the name and contact information of
your regional School Safety Coordinator, visit the GEMA
website and click on the School Safety link on the left
of the GEMA web page.
