Don't
tell your name or address or phone number or anything
else about yourself or where you are.
If
you feel afraid or don't like something on the computer,
tell your parent or another adult you trust. Also, if
someone online or on text messaging is mean to you,
tell an adult.
If something is wrong for you to do at home or school,
it is also wrong to do on the computer or cell phone.
Be polite online, just as you should be in person.
People you meet online may be cyberpals, but don't think
of them as friends. They may not be who they say they
are, so be careful.
Take care of your computer and other electronic devices.
Don't
bang the computer keyboard.
Don't
eat or drink around your computer.
Ask permission before you download anything from the
Internet. Games, music, files, or software may have
code in them that can hurt your computer or steal information
from your computer.
If you get an email with an attachment, don't open the
attachment unless you ask that person if they meant
to send it to you.
