Georgia CyberCrime Task Force

The Georgia CyberCrime Task Force (GCTF) consists of law enforcement and prosecutors across Georgia that work cybercrime cases and work together to share resources and information.

At present GCTF has a list serve that is strictly for law enforcement, to allow the exchange of information about cases in an expeditious manner without compromising confidentiality.
The GCTF has quarterly meetings which, allow us to gather and meet the folks we work with on a regular basis as well as to discuss pertinent issues and cases.

Mission of the Georgia CyberCrime Task Force:

To work towards effective and efficient investigation and prosecution of cybercrime, this Task Force will strive to accomplish its mission through the determined, vigilant, and energetic pursuit of the following goals:

A. To work together with State and local law enforcement towards persistent and effective efforts in the detection, investigation, and prosecution of cybercrime;

B. To establish policies and procedures to effectively identify and investigate complaints of incidents of cybercrime of all types, and to prosecute or assist in the prosecution of persons who perpetrate or assist in such unlawful conduct;

C. To share the latest techniques, investigative information and intelligence information, as well as the resources available through all of the participating agencies, thereby fostering cooperation and reducing duplication of effort;

D. To share research, technology, and resources in the utilization of expertise and training;

E. To develop a clearinghouse for cybercrime cases, allowing the agencies and participants to share information concerning investigations and possible cases to maximize efficiencies;

F. To educate and train law enforcement at every level, thereby providing the latest in information and technology to use in the fight against cybercrime; and

G. To educate various State agencies and the public about the resources available and ethical responsibilities for using the Internet and its resources.
